Thorin Scepter
Wondrous item, legendary (requires attunement)
The Thorin Scepter is one of ten Ruling Scepters of Shanatar, forged by Arcklon and given to the ten Iron Kings of the ancient dwarven empire. The Thorin Scepter's location was unknown for the longest time until a storm giant queen, Neri, found it in a barnacle-covered shipwreck at the bottom of the Trackless Sea. The Ruling Scepters are all roughly the same size and shape, but their materials and properties vary. The Thorin Scepter is a tapered mithral rod as thick and long as a dwarf's forearm, with a small platinum knob at the bottom and a rounded disk adorned with a ring of seven tiny blue gems at the top. You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this scepter, which can be wielded as a magic warhammer. The scepter has 10 charges, and it regains 1d6 + 4 expended charges at dawn. Its properties are as follows:
- If you are underground or underwater, you can use an action to expend 1 charge to determine the distance to the surface.
- As an action, you can expend 2 charges to cast Sending.
- As an action, you can expend 3 charges to cast Misty Step.
- As an action, you can expend 4 charges to cast Lightning Bolt (spell save DC 19).
- As an action, you can expend 6 charges to cast Globe of Invulnerability.
- As an action, you can expend 8 charges to create a spectral image of an adult copper dragon that surrounds you. The spectral dragon lasts for 4 rounds. At the end of the wielder’s turns, the spectral dragon makes one bite attack and two claw attacks against targets of the wielder’s choice. These attacks have the same attack bonus, reach, and damage as an adult copper dragon's bite and claw attacks.
- As an action you can cast Teleport, once cast the Scepter loses all its charges and just becomes a +3 magical weapon.
Proficiency with a Warhammer allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Push. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can push the creature up to 10 feet straight away from yourself if it is Large or smaller.
