Weapon (whip), rare (requires attunement by a person proficient with a whip)

An arm apparatus made of steel wire, mechanisms, and leather padding, which affixes to the user's forearm and is attached to a shoulder sling.

When you make an Attack with this weapon, a steel wire extends and lashes the target; alternatively, if the user knows the Shocking Grasp cantrip the spell attack can be made through this weapon, as the charge can be conducted through the enchanted steel wire.

After taking the Attack action or using Shocking Grasp cantrip through this weapon, as Bonus Action the user can attempt to coil the whip around one of the target's limbs. The target must succeed a DC 12 Strength saving throw, which is made at disadvantage if the target is prone. On a failure the target is pulled 10 feet closer to the user by the magical mechanisms of the apparatus.

The user can also use an Action to grab a tree branch, ladder rung, or any other object the DM deems appropriate. The user can use their Bonus Action to be pulled towards the object or point by the weapon's magical mechanisms.

Proficiency with a Whip allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
