The snakefolk of Chult are not known for waste, so often forge lightweight and robust armour like this from their own shed skin. If the armor normally imposes disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks or has a Strength requirement, the Yuan-Ti scales version of the armor doesn't. Additionally, there is no limitation to the max. DEX bonus to AC.

This armor consists of a coat and leggings (and perhaps a separate skirt) of leather covered with overlapping pieces of metal, much like the scales of a fish. The suit includes gauntlets.
