Weapon (shortsword), varies

This magical shortsword is forged from a mysterious metal that shimmers with a faint, otherworldly glow. The hilt is wrapped in a dragon-scale leather grip, and the pommel is adorned with a small gemstone that seems to reflect the essence of the wielder.

Versatile Weapon: Yato's Edge can be used with finesse, allowing the wielder to use their Dexterity modifier instead of Strength for attack and damage rolls. Additionally, when wielding the weapon with two hands, its damage increases to 1d8.

Elemental Affinity: The Yato's Edge can channel the power of three elemental affinities: Wind, Fire, and Ice. As a bonus action, the attuned wielder can choose one of these affinities, imbuing the weapon with the chosen element until the next dawn.

  • Wind Affinity: Grants a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls. Additionally, the wielder gains a 10-foot flying speed for the duration.

  • Fire Affinity: Deals an additional 1d6 fire damage on a successful hit. Critical hits with the weapon cause the target to catch fire, taking an additional 1d6 fire damage at the start of its turn for 1 minute (Constitution saving throw to end).

  • Ice Affinity: Slows the target on a successful hit. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or have its speed halved for 1 minute.

Dragon's Blessing: Once per long rest, the wielder can unleash the Yato's true potential. For one minute, the shortsword's elemental affinities are enhanced. The bonuses to attack and damage rolls from the Elemental Affinity feature increase to +2, and the additional damage from the Fire Affinity increases to 2d6. Additionally, the wielder gains resistance to the damage type associated with the chosen elemental affinity.

The Yato is connected along with their wielder it grows with them and will adjust to its chosen master
