Description: Serpent's Grasp is a legendary chain weapon with a snake head, designed specifically for Bladesinger Wizards. It enhances their combat and spellcasting abilities, symbolizing the fusion of martial prowess and arcane mastery.

Magic Weapon: Treated as a magic weapon with a reach of 10 feet for melee attacks.

Animated Strikes:

  1. Viper's Strike (Command Word: "Fangs"):

    • Melee Spell Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target.
    • Hit: 3d6 piercing damage.
    • On a critical hit, the bite deals an extra 2d6 piercing damage.
  2. Python's Embrace (Command Word: "Coil"):

    • Melee Spell Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target.
    • Hit: 2d8 bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 18).
    • While grappling a target, the chain can’t make constrict attacks against other targets.
  3. Toxin's Lash (Command Word: "Venom"):

    • Range Spell Attack: +10 to hit, range 30 ft., one target.
    • Hit: 2d10 poison damage, and the target must make a DC 17 Constitution saving throw, becoming poisoned for 1 minute on a failed save.

Serpentine Shield: When wielding Serpent's Grasp, the user can use a reaction to command the chain to use any constricted target to block an attack, granting a +2 bonus to AC against that specific attack.

Song of Steel and Sorcery: While in a Bladesong, attacks with Serpent's Grasp gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls. Additionally, the weapon’s animated strikes can be used as part of the Bladesinger's Extra Attack feature.

Guardian Coil: While resting, the user can command the chain to guard an area.

  • It gives advantage on Perception checks for detecting threats.
  • Automatically alerts the user of any perceived threats.

Sentience: The chain has limited sentience, capable of basic perception and following simple commands from the attuned user.

Whisper of the Sinister Serpent: Binding to the user upon attunement, it cannot be removed without a Remove Curse spell. The curse subtly influences the user's mood and behavior, urging them towards aggression.

Special Features:

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
