A pair of Sai are know as Xai, The Sai is a traditional melee weapon used in Okinawa. The basic form of the weapon is that of a blunted, prong shaped metal baton, with two curved prongs (yoku) projecting from the handle (tsuka). If you do not have both Sai armed the below feats are not possible.

 

Extra Damage: (Monk Only)(Action)

You can expend Ki Points to attempt to do additional damage to the target. These additional points can be spent after die roll.

2 Ki Points - additional 1d4 of piercing damage.

4 Ki Points - additional 1d6 of bludgeoning damage.

 

Disarming: (Monk Only)(Action)

You can expend Ki Points to attempt to disarm the target, forcing it to drop one item of your choice that it’s holding. Disarm Action is a Strength (Athletics) check. Every Ki Point spent past the minimum will add +1 to the check. These additional points can be spent after die roll.

2 Ki Points - The Disarm Action is contested by the target’s Strength (Athletics) check or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check.

4 Ki Points - The Disarm Action has advantage (will off set attacker disadvantage below) while being contested by the target’s Strength (Athletics) check or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check.

The attacker has disadvantage on its Disarm Action if the target is holding the item with two or more hands. The target has advantage on its ability check if it is larger than the attacking creature, or disadvantage if it is smaller. If you are successful, the Disarm Action causes no damage or other ill effect, but the defender drops the item.

 

Grappling: (Monk Only)(Action)

You have advantage while attempting to grapple opponent.

Proficiency with a Club allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
