According to legend, the roots of Yggdrasil extend deep into the earth, while its branches reach high into the heavens, where they are said to support the stars themselves. It is said that when the stars fall from the sky, they are actually the fruit of Yggdrasil, falling to earth as a sign of the tree’s fertility and vitality.
The people of the north believe that when a comet shower occurs, it is a sign that the stars are falling from Yggdrasil’s branches and that the world tree is shedding its fruit. The sight of these falling stars is considered a good omen, a sign of the tree’s continued health and prosperity. Some even believe that the stars themselves are imbued with the power of Yggdrasil and that they can grant wishes to those who are lucky enough to see them.
As the stars fall from the sky, they leave behind a trail of light that illuminates the night sky, casting a magical glow over the world below. The people of the north believe that this light is a symbol of the tree’s power and that it has the ability to heal and protect those who are touched by it.
Seed of Yggdrasil: After the stone has been charged in moonlight for one hour, it regains some of the tree's blessing. While attuned to the stone, you can choose to take 5d8 radiant damage which can't be reduced by any means to use one of the following effects:
-
As a bonus action, up to six creatures of your choice that you can see within range regain hit points equal to 5d4 + 3. This has no effect on undead or constructs.
-
As an action, a wave of healing energy washes out from a point of your choice within range. Choose up to six creatures in a 30-foot-radius sphere centered on that point. Each target regains hit points equal to 3d8 + 3. This has no effect on undead or constructs.
-
As an action, you imbue a creature you touch with positive energy to undo a debilitating effect. You can reduce the target's exhaustion level by one, or end one of the following effects on the target: One effect that charmed or petrified the target, One curse, including the target's attunement to a cursed magic item, Any reduction to one of the target's ability scores, One effect reducing the target's hit point maximum.
When you use the stone in this way, you cannot do so again until the stone is recharged after the next dawn.
Seven-Star Radiance: Once per day, you can speak the command word and the fragmented stone will break into seven shimmering motes and circle you for one minute. You can then fire one of these motes as a bonus action, dealing 2d8+5 radiant damage on a hit. The attack roll is made with a +8 bonus to hit. Once all 7 motes have been used the stone reappears in your inventory inert until the next dusk. If you have four or more motes remaining, they shed bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. If you have one to three motes remaining, they shed dim light in a 30-foot radius.
Seven-Star Parry: While you have at least one of the starry motes created by this item you can use your reaction to parry an incoming melee attack within 30 feet of you. When you do so, the attacker must roll a d4 and subtract the number rolled from their attack roll. If the attack misses, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against the attacker.
