Weapon (greataxe), rare (requires attunement)

The Thunderstrike Greataxe is a formidable weapon with a double-edged blade crafted from tempered steel, etched with intricate lightning motifs along its length. Its haft, made from sturdy oak wrapped in leather, crackles faintly with latent electrical energy.
Properties:
1. Thrown Weapon: When thrown, the Thunderstrike Greataxe flies with uncanny accuracy, dealing 1d12 slashing damage on a hit. It has a normal range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet.
2. Returning Feature: After being thrown, the greataxe magically returns to the thrower's hand at the end of the turn, regardless of the distance thrown. The wielder can choose to catch the axe or let it drop to the ground.
3. Lightning Charge: The Thunderstrike Greataxe deals an additional 1d4 lightning damage on a hit.
Attack Bonus and Damage:
• Attack Bonus: +3 to hit
Damage: 1d12 slashing + 1d4 lightning damage
Attunement: Requires attunement. While attuned to the greataxe, the wielder gains resistance to lightning damage.

Proficiency with a Greataxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Cleave. If you hit a creature with a melee attack roll using this weapon, you can make a melee attack roll with the weapon against a second creature within 5 feet of the first that is also within your reach. On a hit, the second creature takes the weapon’s damage, but don’t add your ability modifier to that damage unless that modifier is negative. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
