Weapon (trident), rare (requires attunement)

This sharpened bident is covered in swirling water motifs. You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. When you make a melee attack with the weapon while underwater, you can immediately move up to 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks, immediately before making the attack.

The bident has 5 charges and regains 1d4 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn.

Part Water. While holding the bident, you can use an action to expend 1 or more charges from the bident to make a dry path through a nearby body of water. Choose a point that you can see within a body of water within 60 feet of you. The path extends in a direction from that point in a straight line up to 120 feet long and up to 20 feet wide. The path also extends upward, up to 30 feet high. The line remains for 1 minute or until you end the effect using another action, at which point it slowly refills with water over the next round. You can extend the line up to an additional 120 feet for each extra charge you expend to use this property after the first; the path's duration is also extended by 1 minute for each extra charge. If a target is made of water, such as a water elemental, you can use this property of the bident to expend 1 of its charges to force the target to make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the target takes 8d8 force damage as the bident's magic attempts to split it apart.

For long years, I heeded the call of the tides, cutting a path through the waves in search of adventure. And now, the tides return the favor, to much the same ends.

Proficiency with a Trident allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
