Dangling from a short rusted chain, this polished silver whistle seems to produce no audible tone when blown into. Using the tone holes on the whistle, 4 different tones can be produced.

You can use an action to sound the whistle and summon one of the 4 types of spectral hound(s) from the following list:

• Tracking Hound - You summon an incorporeal hound that can locate any object or person that is familiar to you. The hound has similar limitations to the locate object and locate creature spells.

• Guard Dog - You summon a  spectral dog that that remains within 30 feet of you, alert to danger. It grants you advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell. Additionally, if a hostile creature comes within 30 feet of you, the hound emits a low growl, allowing you to roll initiative with advantage. The hound disappears after 4 hours.

• Messenger Dog  - You summon an incorporeal Dog that can deliver a parcel to person that is familiar to you. The parcel can weigh no more than 20lbs and can be no larger than 2ft in any dimension. The hound has similar limitations to the sending spell. Once the parcel has been accepted by the target the dog disappears. If the parcel is rejected, the dog returns it to you.

• War Hounds - You summon 4 spectral [Tooltip Not Found] that are immune to  Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing damage from Nonmagical Attacks. The mastiffs disappear when they drop to 0 hit points or after 1 hour.

The whistle can't be used this way again until the next dawn.
