Weapon (scimitar), very rare

This Fiendish Blade comes from the nine hells, anyone familiar with the item’s origins would have good reason to fear its owner. It is said to feed upon the souls of its victims and wielder alike. The hell-blade is made of rune-inscribed black-iron and is warm to the touch. The sword mutters in infernal when held, listening carefully to the voices might dive you mad.

Infernal Iron. When you make an attack roll with this weapon and miss, you can choose to expend one of your hit dice and add it to the roll, potentially changing the result. The hit dice is expended only if you hit the target.

Soul Rend. This weapon deals Necrotic Damage. When you hit a creature with this weapon, you can choose to expend up to three of your hit dice and add it to the damage roll. When you score a critical hit with this weapon you can choose to increase the damage delt by sacrificing your own Hit Points. You can sacrifice up to half your hit point maximum.

Soul Harvest. When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with this weapon you gain a number of hit points equal to your character level. Any surplus hit points gained by this feature are turned into temporary hit points.

Willfully wielding this weapon will change your alignment to Lawful Evil.

Proficiency with a Scimitar allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
