This masterbolt is a magic weapon. When you hurl it and speak its command word, it transforms into a large bolt of lightning, forming a line 10 feet wide that extends out from you to a target within 240 feet. Each creature in the line excluding you and the target must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking 2d40 lightning damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The masterbolt turns back into a javelin when it reaches the target. Make a ranged weapon attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes damage from the javelin plus 5d6 lightning damage, and 2d6 thunder damage.
The masterbolt's property can't be used again until you take a long rest. In the meantime, the thunderbolt can still be used as a magic weapon.
Proficiency with a Javelin allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
