Weapon (greatsword), legendary (requires attunement)

Zangetsu is a massive, cleaver-like blade that channels the wielder's spiritual energy, allowing for devastating attacks and unique abilities.

  • Massive Blade: Zangetsu is a versatile weapon that can be wielded with one or two hands. It deals 2d8 slashing damage when used one-handed and 2d10 slashing damage when used two-handed.
  • Getsuga Tenshō: As an action, you can unleash a wave of spiritual energy in a 30-foot line that is 5 feet wide. Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier), taking 6d10 force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses after a long rest.
  • Spiritual Resonance: While attuned to Zangetsu, you gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon. Additionally, you have advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed.
  • Bankai: Tensa Zangetsu: Once per long rest, as a bonus action, you can transform Zangetsu into its Bankai form, Tensa Zangetsu, for 1 minute. During this time, your speed doubles, and you gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with Zangetsu. Additionally, your Getsuga Tenshō deals an extra 2d10 force damage.

Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
