Forged in the depths of a storm-forged anvil, the Thunderous Mace is a weapon imbued with the raw fury of the skies. Its obsidian-black metal hums with latent energy and the intricate runes carved along its shaft glow faintly when the weapon is wielded with purpose.
While unattuned, the mace is simply a well-crafted magical weapon, granting a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls. However, when a warrior bonds with the weapon, its true power is unleashed. Each strike reverberates with a thunderous boom, dealing an additional 2d8 thunder damage. Any creature struck must make a Strength saving throw (DC 15) or be hurled 10 feet away as if struck by a mighty tempest. The wielder can hear faint, rhythmic whispers of thunder as if the mace holds echoes of long-forgotten storms.
The wielder of the Thunderous Mace often finds their voice carrying a deeper resonance as if the storms themselves lend them their authority. Some say the runes whisper secrets of ancient tempests waiting to be fully unraveled.
Proficiency with a Mace allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
