While holding this magic weapon, you can speak the command word to cause the blade to erupt in black flames (no action required). The flames absorb light within a 30-foot radius of the dagger:

  • Bright Light is reduced to Dim Light, and the dagger deals an additional 1d6 fire damage on a hit.
  • Dim Light becomes non-magical darkness.
  • Non-magical flames within the radius are extinguished.

The flames remain active until you speak the command word again or sheathe the dagger.

Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
