Staff, artifact (requires attunement by a Spellcaster)
Bloodmagius is the name of an ancient staff, built of crystal that assumes the appearance of dark crimson glass. As the name implies, bloodmagius requires a blood donation, be it sacrifice or an orc's bad nosebleed. At least 3 ounces of any creature's blood, including any amount of ichor and chlorophyll are required to activate the staff. Bloodmagius cannot be activated involuntarily. Once bloodmagius has been activated, the following effects occur and end after one hour:
- The caster's eyes and the staff begin glowing, granting the caster darkvision to a range of 40 feet
- The caster's spell attacks deal double damage.
- The caster gains a +2 to intimidation.
- The caster's intelligence and wisdom scores each decrease by one.
- The caster has advantage on Strength and Dexterity checks as well as on Strength and Dexterity saving throws.
- The caster has resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
Once these effects have ended, the caster gains 1 level of exhaustion and the staff cannot be used in this way again for 1d3 days.
