Staff (quarterstaff), artifact (requires attunement by a Requires Attunement by a Cleric, Druid, Sorcerer, Wizard, or Warlock )

Crafted from weathered driftwood infused with the essence of the tides, this is a legendary staff imbued with the ocean's boundless power. It is cool to the touch, and faint whispers of crashing waves echo around it when wielded. A shimmering crystal set atop the staff glows faintly with a deep, azure light, reflecting the mysteries of the sea.

You gain a +3 bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. When you hit a create with this weapon, the create takes an extra 2d6 lightning damage and must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or have the Prone condition.

While attuning to this staff and wielding it, you can breath underwater and have a Swim Speed of 60 feet.

Call Lightning. You can cast Call LightningOnce used, this property can't be used again until the next dawn.

Control Water. You can cast Control Water. Once used, this property can't be used again until the next dawn.

Ocean's Calm. You may take an action to cast Ocean's Calm to any point within 300 feet of you. This spell will immediately and permanently close  a portal between the Material Plane and the Plane of Water. You will immediately suffer three levels of exhaustion after performing this action. Because of the severely taxing nature of this spell, you will also suffer a permeant loss of 2 Strength, 3 Constitution, and 2 Dexterity. If your Strength, Constitution, or Dexterity fall below 1, you will suffer immediate death. You will not be granted death saving throws. This loss can only be restored by the use of a Wish spell. You will also lose preparation of any spells that you had prepared. These spells will be recovered after a long rest.

Tidal Banishment. You may take an action to cast Tidal Banishment to any creature within 300 feet of you. That creature must succeed on a DC 20 Constitution saving throw or become permanently banished to the Plane of Water. You will immediately suffer three levels of exhaustion after performing this action. Because of the severely taxing nature of this spell, you will also suffer a permeant loss of 4 Strength, 4 Constitution, and 4 Dexterity. If your Strength, Constitution, or Dexterity fall below 1, you will suffer immediate death. You will not be granted death saving throws. This loss can only be restored by the use of a Wish spell. You will also lose preparation of any spells that you had prepared. These spells will be recovered after a long rest.

Proficiency with a Quarterstaff allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
