Ring, rare (requires attunement by a sorcerer)

This beautiful ring is made of sheets of obsidian layered at odd angles to create a sharp edge. The inner leather band of the ring is stained with a dark red substance, and as you handle it, the bladed end always seems to find its way closer to your flesh.

While attuned to it, you can use this ring as a spellcasting focus for your spells. Additionally, you gain a +2 bonus to spell attack rolls and to the saving throw DCs of your sorcerer spells.

Life for PowerOnce per day you may gain power from the ring by allowing it to absorb some of your lifeforce. Roll your two highest available hit die. You take slashing damage equal to this roll, but regain sorcery points equal to half the damage taken, rounded down. You may only replenish up to the number of sorcery points available to you. Using this ability spends the hit dice as if they were used to heal. This property of the ring can’t be used again until the next dawn.

The Mechaniacal King's CurseThis ring is cursed. The first time you attune to this ring, you compulsively utilize its Life for Power ability. The ring cannot be removed from your finger while your attunement to it lasts. Other than death, the only non-magical means to remove the ring is to use it to drain a person of their lifeforce entirely. Remove Curse or other similar spells can also be utilized, at your DM's discretion.

Notes: Bonus: Sorcerer Spell Attacks, Bonus: Sorcerer Spell Save DC, sorcerer
