The Tinker's Sting appears to be a light crossbow mounted to a gold and mythril bracer. There doesn't appear to be any mechanism. To attune the sting, one must hold back the string and fire their blood coated bolt into a roaring fire. After being attuned, the wearer simply points his arm at the intended target. A magical bolt appears and fires at user's will. Only one bolt can be fired per action/reaction. The magical bolts disappear after hitting or missing the intended target. Counts as a magical weapon to hit and damage ethereal creatures or creatures that can only be harmed by magic.
Proficiency with a Light Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
