This uchigatana originates from the country of Wa in Kara-Tur. Known as Yoto in Wa-an, the weapon has gained the name "Demon Blade" from its wielders in Faerûn — both for its terrible aura and the carnage it wrought in the hands of the "Silver Dragon" in Cormyr prior to and during Gondegal's rebellion. The blade and grip bear deep crimson stains that can never be cleansed.
Uchigatana. If you are proficient with longswords, drawing an uchigatana is a free action when immediately followed by an attack.
Magical Weapon. You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
Safeguard. You cannot be disarmed, and your equipment cannot be removed or destroyed by others against your will.
Lingering Wounds. If you hit a creature with this weapon and it takes damage, it suffers a lingering wound that causes it to take 2d6 necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns. Subsequent hits increase the damage dealt by the wound by 2d6. The wound ends if the creature regains hit points or if a creature uses an action to stanch the wound, which requires a successful DC 20 Wisdom (Medicine) check.
Sword Spirit. As an action, you can release the fiendish spirit within the blade, which cuts through all creatures within 15 feet. Each creature must succeed on a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw or take 4d8 + 3 force damage and suffer a lingering wound as above.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
