Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement by a creature with Dexterity 13 or higher)

Thwip. As a bonus action, you can make a ranged weapon attack against a creature or object within 30 feet. You are proficient with this attack, and it uses Dexterity for its attack and damage rolls. On a hit, the target takes 1d4 piercing damage and is grappled (escape DC 15). A 30-foot magical web line tethers you to the target. This web cannot be severed by physical means and remains until you will it to dissipate (no action required) or the grapple ends. When a target becomes grappled this way, you immediately adjust the tether’s effect:

  • If the target is lighter than you: The target is pulled up to 30 feet toward you.
  • If the target is the same size as you: Both you and the target are pulled 15 feet toward each other.
  • If the target is heavier than you: You are pulled up to 30 feet toward the target.

Inanimate objects are automatically hit and considered anchored unless unsecured and significantly lighter than you.

A grappled creature can use its action to make a Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check against DC 15, ending the effect on a success. The grapple also ends if the target teleports.

The Wristbands of Web-Slinging are crafted from a sleek, shimmering material that gleams like silver yet flexes as if woven from spider silk. Intricate patterns of arachnid motifs wind around the wristbands, pulsating softly with a magical energy that intrigues and enchants. When activated, wisps of ethereal webbing extend from the wristbands, appearing like delicate threads of light.

Forged by the legendary artisan Molgath, a half-elf sorcerer renowned for his fascination with the spider deities, these wristbands were originally intended for a clandestine guild of thieves known as the Silk Shadows. The guild utilized these wristbands for stealthy apprehensions and escapes, turning seemingly impossible odds in their favor. Tales of their prowess spread throughout the realms, and these wristbands became not only tools for thieves but also coveted items for brave adventurers seeking to harness the art of agility and cunning in battle.

Notes: Grappled, creature with Dexterity 13 or higher
