Windward is a weapon forged in an era much older than ours current when man and beast stayed locked in combat for many moons, it's unique ability to swap between forms was a normality in this time as many of the great warriors who hunted the beast worked alone giving them the ability to engage combat in various ways. Since then most of these old age weapons have became obsolete and forgotten due to the formation of adventuring guilds and parties that operate in groups rather than individuals. Some still exist in museums or as family heirlooms mounted above a fireplace, but their are the few who enjoy the novelty and choose for them to be their weapon of choice.
Windward is uniquely crafted weapon that posses the ability to "trick" or morph into one of two forms. In this form the weapon appears as a long slightly curved blade but by activating a mechanism the hilt the blades rotate acting as the limbs allowing the wielder to use the weapon as a short bow.
