Zenith Ward Wondrous Item (Shield), rare (requires attunement) This magical shield can change its shape and function in response to the user's needs, blending offense and defense. While attuned to this shield, you can use a bonus action to shift between the following forms, each offering distinct abilities.
Standard Shield (AC +2) The shield appears as a classic kite or round shield, providing +2 to AC as a normal shield. While in this form, you can use the shield to protect yourself and gain its AC bonus.
Tower Shield (AC +3, disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws) The shield transforms into a massive tower shield, providing +3 to AC. However, you have disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws due to the shield's bulk and weight.
Buckler Shield (AC +1, no Strength requirement) The shield shrinks into a small, light buckler that can be worn on the forearm. This form grants +1 to AC and allows you to use your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier for the shield's AC bonus. The buckler form does not require a Strength score to use.
Aegis of the Sentinel (AC +2, Resistance to one damage type) The shield transforms into a radiant, ethereal shape, glowing with a bright aura. While in this form, the shield grants +2 AC and resistance to one damage type of your choice (chosen when transforming the shield), such as fire, cold, or acid. The resistance lasts until you change the shield's form again.
Lightstrike Shield (AC +1, Finesse Weapon, Light) The shield shifts into a sleek, lightweight form that can be wielded as a weapon. This form grants +1 to AC and can be used as a finesse weapon to make melee attacks. It deals 1d6 piercing damage on a hit and uses your Dexterity modifier for attack and damage rolls. The shield counts as a light weapon, allowing you to use it for two-weapon fighting.
Changing Form: As a bonus action, you can change the form of the shield into one of the types listed above. The shield can remain in a chosen form indefinitely until you change it again. You cannot use the shield’s defensive abilities while it is not equipped in your hand or on your person.
Finesse Weapon: While in the Lightstrike Shield form, the shield can be wielded as a finesse weapon. This means you can use your Dexterity modifier instead of Strength for the attack and damage rolls, and you can engage in two-weapon fighting if you have a light weapon in your other hand.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
Notes: Must successfully block 2 attacks.
