This crown is a blend of natural materials - vine, bark, leaves and even the occasional mushroom - woven together in an ever-changing intricate design. Its form shifts slightly with the seasons and the moods of the wearer, embodying the fluidity and adaptability of nature.
Shape of the Sovereign: While attuned to this crown, you can use your Wild Shape, and you may choose to take on a form that bestows a regal presence. This form grants you the following benefits for the duration of your Wild Shape:
You gain advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
Your movement speed is increased by 10ft while in beast form.
You can add your Wisdom modifier to your AC while in beast form, up to a maximum of +2.
Changeling's Crown: While in your Changeling form, you may use a bonus action to shift the crown's appearance to match your new form. The crown adjusts its shape and size to blend with your chosen appearance, appearing as part of your new form, but always with a natural, organic look. This grants you advantage on any Stealth or Deception checks made to avoid recognition while in a non-natural form (such as animal or humanoid).
Regal Command: Once per long rest, you can channel the crown's power to command the forces of nature. You may cast Entangle without expending a spell slot, and when you do, the spell's area of effect increases by 10ft in each direction. Additionally, any creature that fails its saving throw becomes restrained for the duration of the spell.
Crown of Verdant Dominion: As a bonus action, you can summon the power of the crown to manipulate the nearby flora. You can cast Plant Growth at will, but it can only affect an area of 15ft in radius. The plants animated by the spell are more resilient, having hit points equal to your Druid level. After using this feature, you must finish a short or long rest to use it again.
Curse: The Thorne Crown of the Shifting Sovereign is a powerful artefact tied deeply to the primordial forces of nature. However, it carries a burden. While attuned to the crown, you feel a constant pull toward the natural world, and you occasionally hear whispers from the deepest, oldest parts of the forest, calling you to actions that may conflict with the needs of civilisation. Once per week, you must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 15) or be compelled to follow the whispers' commands, even if they are against your current goals or alignments.
