Appearance:
A multifaceted crystal prism gleaming with shifting hues of soft blues, purples, and greens, set in a simple yet elegant silver bezel that hangs from a fine silver chain. When light strikes it just right, it refracts tiny rainbows that dance subtly around the wearer. On the back of the bezel, a tiny inscription reads:
“They’ll believe it if you do. — J.”
Theme:
This prism was a gift from Jaxle, the traveling performer and mentor who first taught Seebu the art of illusion and the power of storytelling. During their time together, Jaxle would often remind Seebu that magic is as much about belief as power.
Properties:
-
The amulet has 3 charges. You can spend 1 charge to cast Seeming.
-
While disguised by Seeming, creatures you interact with have disadvantage on Insight checks to see through your false identity.
-
Once per long rest, you can cast Mirror Image without expending a spell slot or charge, but only while Seeming is active.
Recharge:
Thistle’s Masquerade regains all expended charges at dawn, but only if the previous day you performed or tricked a group of three or more individuals into believing a false persona.
Attunement Quirk:
To maintain attunement, you must have performed (even badly) for an audience of at least three people within the last week. If you fail to do so, the mask loses its shimmer and magical properties, becoming a mundane trinket until you perform again.
Notes: requires attunement by a spellcaster who has performed in front of a crowd within the last week
