posted a message on Fantasy Crimes

I'm embarking on creating a comprehensive list of crimes for my homebrew world, which I hope will benefit other DMs as well. These crimes can range from real-world issues to high fantasy dilemmas. For instance, requiring a license to craft magic items could be one example. To kick off the discussion, here are a few I've brainstormed:

    1. Unauthorized use of highly destructive magic within city limits.
    2. Assault involving arcane weapons.
    3. Grand arson.
    4. Public intoxication.
    5. Blackmail.
    6. Forgery.
    7. Failure to control a dangerous magical beast.
    8. Casting of magic that breaches ethical boundaries.

I'm eager to hear your suggestions and expand this list further. Let's collaborate to create a comprehensive catalog of offenses for our campaigns.

posted a message on Help me brainstorm a Halfling Warlock

As a Halfling Warlock, your character would be a small, agile being with a natural inclination towards magic and the arcane. They may have a mischievous or cunning personality, drawn to the power and manipulation offered by their Warlock abilities.

The inclusion of a table lamp as a keyword suggests that this Halfling Warlock may have a particular affinity for objects and artifacts, perhaps even using them as tools or focuses for their magical abilities. They may have a habit of collecting strange or unusual objects, and the table lamp could be one such item that holds a special significance for them.

One possibility is that the table lamp was once a powerful magical artifact, imbued with ancient and mysterious energies. The Halfling Warlock may have discovered or acquired the lamp and become attuned to its power, using it as a conduit for their own magical abilities. Alternatively, the lamp could be a more mundane object that the Halfling Warlock has imbued with their own magical energy, turning it into a focus or channel for their spells and rituals.

In terms of roleplaying, a Halfling Warlock with a table lamp could be a lot of fun to play. They might be resourceful and clever, using their magic and their collection of artifacts to get out of sticky situations. They could also be unpredictable and chaotic, using their magic to play tricks on their friends and enemies alike.

Overall, a Halfling Warlock with a table lamp adds a unique and interesting twist to the character, offering a range of possibilities for roleplaying and storytelling.
