Fire Aura. At the end of each of the elemental’s turns, each creature in a 10-foot Emanation originating from the elemental takes 5 (1d10) Fire damage. Creatures and flammable objects in the Emanation start burning.
Fire Form. The elemental can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch without expending extra movement to do so, and it can enter a creature’s space and stop there. The first time it enters a creature’s space on a turn, that creature takes 5 (1d10) Fire damage.
Illumination. The elemental sheds Bright Light in a 30- foot radius and Dim Light for an additional 30 feet.
Water Susceptibility. The elemental takes 3 (1d6) Cold damage for every 5 feet the elemental moves in water or for every gallon of water splashed on it.
Multiattack. The elemental makes two Burn attacks.
Burn. Melee Attack Roll: +6, reach 5 ft. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) Fire damage. If the target is a creature or a flammable object, it starts burning.
Nice to see a vulnerability added.
This is a very very weak CR 5, should be maybe a CR 2 or 3. OCR is a 2 and resistance is cancled out by vulnerability.
Keep in mind that weapon resistance can no longer be ignored by magic weapons.
I was thinking Create or Destroy Water could do a lot of damage to a Fire Elemental, but if you don't have a ready container that can hold several gallons of water to splash it with, then at most, you're going to be dropping one gallon or so on your Large Fire Elemental when it falls as rain.
Shape Water with sufficient available water, would either not do anything unless the Fire Elemental decides to move (in which case it does1d6), or let you one-shot any Fire Elemental if you can splash it with 935 gallons (one 5-foot cube) of water, and I feel like most rulings on the cantrip would fall closer to the former.
Homebrewey, it seems like a DEX save or take d6 Cold Damage with cantrip scaling would be reasonable on Shape Water.
My favourite elemental🔥. -ps why so weak
Honestly, its AC is correct for the CR (perhaps a single point too low), its HP is perfectly in the proper band for CR 5, its highest sability modifier, number of attacks, and major attack bonus is correct as well. In fact, if anything, its CR should be 6 because its DPR is 41.1 (its AoE Fire Aura is worth 7.1 DPR, the Fire Form [assuming it goes through one opponent's space per turn] is worth 10 DPR, and its Burn attacks total 24 DPR [including a single round of burning damage]).
I love the new artwork! Way better than the classic one in my opinion.
Statwise he lost 9 hp
I love that his Aura now does dmg just by being there not only on hits. His water weakness I way stronger now.
Overall I don't know, feels bit weaker than the rest but will see how he will do against players
Anyone know how much water is in a 10 ft section of tidal wave...
It's enough. Day of planning ruined...
These guys are terrifying. They can light worn/ carried equipment on fire, so they can burn rogue's and ranger's armor.
