why does this have the (dinosaur) in its stat block. it is a prehistoric sea turtle, not a dinosaur. Dinosaurs are a very specific clade of archosaur reptiles. one cant label every prehistoric reptile as a "dinosaur" is it pedantic? yes. but we have these names and categories for reasons. This goes for the Plesiosaur to, which ironacally is closer to the archelon on the sauropsid family tree than it is to any dinosaur.
You can how ever label the hawk as a Dinosaur because that be correct.
They did this for if someone was trying to sort by prehistoric reptiles, calling them all dinosaurs would be much easier and less time-consuming. But yeah they also did it with the pteranodon.
i understand that, but it one of those things that gets really on my nerves as a pendant about dinosaurs. Prehistoric could been a fine tag.
I also saw the art for Pteranodon. not the best i´ve seen. it does not look like A Pteranodon
I'm glad they added more Mesozoic Beasts to the Monster Manual!!
YAYY turtle!
This ancient turtle is so obscure that I initially though this was an original creature made for D&D before researching it and realizing it's a real life creature.
You broke my brain, and also that's not English
