Spider Climb. The ettercap can climb difficult surfaces, including along ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Web Walker. The ettercap ignores movement restrictions caused by webs, and the ettercap knows the location of any other creature in contact with the same web.
Multiattack. The ettercap makes one Bite attack and one Claw attack.
Bite. Melee Attack Roll: +4, reach 5 ft. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) Piercing damage plus 2 (1d4) Poison damage, and the target has the Poisoned condition until the start of the ettercap’s next turn.
Claw. Melee Attack Roll: +4, reach 5 ft. Hit: 7 (2d4 + 2) Slashing damage.
Web Strand (Recharge 5–6). Dexterity Saving Throw: DC 12, one Large or smaller creature the ettercap can see within 30 feet. Failure: The target has the Restrained condition until the web is destroyed (AC 10; HP 5; Vulnerability to Fire damage; Immunity to Bludgeoning, Poison, and Psychic damage).
Reel. The ettercap pulls one creature within 30 feet of itself that is Restrained by its Web Strand up to 25 feet straight toward itself.

Art went from round spiderman to chitinous spiderman.
Web Sense and Web Walker have been combined into one trait, which simplifies things. Bite was nerfed from 6 piercing and 4 poison to 5 piercing plus 2 poison. However, the constitution saving throw against the poisoned condition was removed instead auto poisoning. However, the condition only lasts until the start of the Ettercap's next turn as opposed for one minute, but repeated saving throws. So, in a sense, you'll have disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks for one round with this guy, whereas with the old one, it's until after ten rounds or a success.
Web was reworded into Web Strand. Went from a ranged attack roll to a saving throw, and the range was decreased to just 30ft. when the old one could hit comfortably at 30ft, but could take disadvantage and potentially hit a target up to 60ft. away. You also can't escape from the web with a Strength check, forcing you to rely on others. Also gained the Reel bonus action.
I think I prefer the old one, to be honest. It was nastier, but there were a few more loopholes that you could use to get around it. Art wise, this is a first for me as I prefer chitinous beings, I think I'll take the round one as it looks more comedic.
I like the new artwork with the webbed adventures but I wished the artist would have stayed true to the more chonky version
