Multiattack. The giant makes two attacks, using Tree Club or Trash Lob in any combination.
Tree Club. Melee Attack Roll: +8, reach 10 ft. Hit: 18 (3d8 + 5) Bludgeoning damage. If the target is a Large or smaller creature, it has the Prone condition.
Trash Lob. Ranged Attack Roll: +8, range 60/240 ft. Hit: 16 (2d10 + 5) Bludgeoning damage, and the target has the Poisoned condition until the end of its next turn.
_Trash Lob_! Incredible.
I love that instead of boulders they now just throw a rotten ham shank
So what are people doing with hill giants in your world. I tend to enjoy the lore that they are gluttonous dimwits that love eating halflings.
I like ordning. Basically they are almost always under the orders of higher giants in my world, either as soldiers along with ogres or to keep them under check by good aligned giants. When they end up with no boss, they boss around the ogres since they are ranking even lower and raidin, but those not well organized and stupid party without any actual thinker behind it are taken care of fast.
40-foot movement and a melee attack that automatically knocks someone prone...so the Hill giant walks up, knocks you down, takes a single attack of opportunity, which is at disadvantage because you're prone, then backs 20 feet away, you stand up, use half your movement speed to do it, and..whoops. You could cheese most melee characters to death with this. Hence why saving throws mattered.
How does "Trash" deal 16 damage, but the Stone Giant's boulder only does 15 damage? How does a squishy lump deal more bludgeoning damage than a solid boulder? Stone Giants are supposed to be theses expert boulder throwers, yet they are outdone by filth tossing Hill giants? Sure Stone Giants get +9 instead of +8 on the to hit roll, but that doesn't seem to be enough to mark them as far better than waste tossing hill giants. Trash lob should be a 2d6 but cause poison (DC12) to adjacent creatures as well.
I feel that Chaotic Neutral is more accurate than Chaotic Evil for this creature
