I will take this as a good upgrade for the Saber-Toothed Tiger vs 2014. The 2014 model was clunky and not nearly as good a choice as the Polar or Cave Bear. Multiattack here and Nimble Escape are cool for making a Moon Druid Striker.
Another victim of the Generic Rend Attack. You're telling me that the thing named after how large and pointed its teeth are is incapable of dealing piercing damage?
No bite attack?
Rend should say piercing or slashing damage.
Smilodon, Thylacosmilus, any sort of prehistoric cat that lived in the tundra. Or Ice Age.
Gained 1 AC and 3 Dex, increasing it from 14 to 17. Modifier is changed from +2 to +3. Gained proficiency in Strength and Dexterity saving throws as well. Also gained proficiency in Perception.
Lost Keen Smell and Pounce, but gained Running Leap and Nimble Escape.
Used to have a Bite and Claw attack, now has two Rend attacks. Both Rend attacks deal more damage on average.
New tiger is now better. However, there are some things for the Fusion.
Fusion time! Bring back the Pounce trait, but rework it into the Rend attack, such as "if both attacks hit, the target is automatically knocked prone." Also, given that the SABER-TOOTHED tiger is named for its fangs, have the Rend attack deal either piercing or slashing damage. Simple.
