Hello Dice Rollers,
I'm happy to say that we've just released a small update that will allow you to include critical damage when you roll. You can manually add it by right-clicking on the damage roll and choosing the crit option. Also, after rolling a crit on your attack roll, critical damage will be automatically added to the damage roll for that specific attack.
We are excited to continue to improve dice rolling as we work to make it easier to play. If you have feedback, we want to hear it. Please leave your feedback in our Dice Feedback Forum in the thread related to your ideas or start a new thread with different ideas you have.
Awesome! I just tested it on my mobile device and it works with the long hold just like Advantage. Thank you.
Nice.
Is it planned to add feat checks, though?
Something that would add the sneak attack dice automatically to the hit roll when the attack landed and was on a roll with advantage when the character has a sneak attack feature?
Or checks for expanded range of critical hits (improved & superior criticals)?
This is a great improvement, are there plans for this to work with Savage Attacks and Brutal Critical?
Thanks.
Is there a way to include alternate critical hit rules?
There are no official alternate crit rules. Those are all house rules and will need to be managed manually.
I'd like to see the ability to choose the dice I'm rolling from the character sheet, and moreso to have it be a sticky setting per character much like the backgrounds and themes and such.
Also, and I assume this is part of the digital DM screen that comes at some point down the road, rolling for monsters/NPCs would be a real nice touch.
I second this request for Savage attacks and Brutal Critical.
I can't locate my dice under Collections where it usually has been? Was this a recent change and they've been moved?
hi! i did not know this. COOL! also, random question. what is your favorite book series? (anyone can answer)
Love the online dice! Makes life so much easier. Anything in the works so that i can see what my players rolled? Covid / zoom game of course. Would be great if there was a live room or a log or even a temporary subscription to their active dice window or something.
Keep up the good work!!
Hi
Me and some other DM's I know use house rules such as "on a critical hit, just add max damage instead of a second die".
When playing in person, I tell my players to roll atack and damage together:
- if miss, ignore the damge
- if hit, you already have the damage so no wait for a second roll
- if critical hit, just add the max damage from the die instead of a second roll.
In this example, if the normal damage is 1d6 + 3, on a critical hit the damage would be 6 + 1d6 + 3.
Anyway, the thing is that this feature of automatically adding the damage roll kinda messes up the house rule. I know you can right-click on the button and make a normal damage roll but was wondering if it is possible to add an option to just disable the "Automatic added damage roll" so on a critical hit no double dice are rolled. (and so we just add the max damage).
Thank you
It does not account for Vicious Weapon procs on critical hits.
Be real nice to simply have a "on critical hit" box on custom weapon properties to work in the RAW rule and the most common house rules (as well as a variety of other rules) This would then tie it into the "critical hit" function of the dice roller.
Can you play with out the app ?
Yeah. You don’t need the app at all. I usually run right off of the website here.
Seconded here. If there was a campaign-wide setting to disable the auto-crit damage, it'd definitely be helpful for house rules
Can we change/modify the damage shown on the DnD Beyond app when a crit is rolled? Our DM uses "Brutal Crit" style damage for all players istead of double damage.
