There is literally no reason for someone to buy this. You're paying a DnD Beyond premium for JPGs that you can get directly from the artist, for less money, with all the money going to the artist.
It's for Maps users.
It's for Maps users.
Also, in a recent poll of next maps, fantasy was not listed by Czepeku. I doubt you'll see DnD maps released from them directly as they now have a steady outlet through DDB and will move on to other genres that need maps.
That would be foolish by them. Everyone would download the complete backlog and end their patreon. I do not think they're foolish.
Which makes it worse!
1) this is a purchase you can only keep for as long as you're a subscriber, and
2) Like all VTTs, Maps lets you upload JPEGs that you get from other sources
Not everyone uses Patreon. Have you considered that?
So you're saying people are willing to pay more for a single map, than pay for one month on patreon to get every single map they've ever produced?
Those people are either very rich or not smart with their money.
If Beyond charged Czepeku's rate, Czepeku would be paid LESS than Patreon.
I'm not talking about their cut. I'm talking about the consumer.
So you'd want them to take less than their Patreon pays via their cut just so "The Customer"(TM) can get it cheap here?
Also, from my experience, a ton of external maps tend to be finicky to upload onto Maps. So no, Patreon is NOT the be all, end-all for Beyond.
It's not like Patreon has its own litany of issues(including shielding problematic content creators) or anything...
I really think you misunderstood the point I'm making. It's cheaper for people to go to Patreon than it is to pay for single things here. If they think they need more money, they control the cost of their Patreon.
You're saying that Hasbro should take more money from players for something that is simple to manage. If you want to give Cze Peku more money, buy it from their own website.
It may be cheaper, but it may not be worth the hassle.
Patreon has MAJOR issues as a business that turns off people.
Non-Beyond-coded maps on Maps are not intuitive to upload AT ALL(let alone the file size limitations), and if they want people doing that regularly, they should have a guide to it upfront.
*shrug* I've been doing it for years just fine, even with CP maps, as well as my own. And I've barely scratched the 10GB storage.
Though each map can't be more than 10mb per map. Which is a barrier for a lot of custom maps. I believe that's what they mean
Depend your use of custom maps. I usually find a lot a very good map for free on internet, but just bought one single specific set of map on czepeku for the first time, because they were exactly what i wanted for few scenes. That doesn't change the fact that, even in this case, it's more worth it to buy it directly on czepeku.
If you buy one shot wonders you get ten maps for 5 dollars
Wow another money grab. Honestly there should be way more maps that come with master tier subscription, was highly disappointed when I seen what came with it.
Don't get them if youre thinking about using other vtts. There is no download for these. Wish they would change it. Above Vtt is a better vtt while they add features to this vtt.
If you want the maps for other things, go to the Czepeku site.
