Homebrew Zombie Species Details
you were dead, and now you aren't, simple as that. people are zombified for any number of reasons; maybe you left the stove on, so you rose from the dead to turn off the stove, maybe you are an edge lord, and as such were too angy to die, or maybe somebody resurrected you, the reason is really up to you, most zombs have a purpose, like something they need to do, someone they need to unalive, or maybe you just had to turn off the stove, if you came back with a purpose, then when that purpose is fulfilled, you peacefully rejoin the land of the dead. A zombies un-life can end in one of two ways, either you can complete your goal, and re-join the land of the dead, or your skin and muscles can decompose painfully, leaving you as just a skeleton, in which case your soul leaves your body
Zombie Traits
you have the following racial traits:Ability scores
you gain plus one to strength and plus one to constitution due to being stiff and thick, but lose minus one to intelligence and minus one to dexterity due to being dumb and slow.
Un-life
You classify as undead, and because you're a zombie you are resistant to necrotic damage, but weak to radiant damage
Undead Sustainablity
Due to your undead nature if a spell states that it doesn't affect undead, it doesn't affect you, if a healing spell doesn't specify that it doesn't affect undead you still heal half the amount you normally would (rounded down), but you gain advantage on death saving throws, and a critical fail on a death saving throw only counts as a normal fail, if you are reduced to zero hit points you are instead reduced to one e.g if you take three damage, but only have one health you go to death saving throws, but if you have three health and take three damage you fall to zero, and so fall to one.
Decomposition
When you choose this race roll a D20 with advantage, after that many days your soul leaves your body.
