Homebrew Lepidon Species Details
A race of winged humanoids that resemble and share traits with insects like moths. Their wings are often used as a cloak.
Lepidon Traits
Your Lepidon character has the following traits.Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet. You have a flying speed of 30 feet.
Ability Score Increase
Your Dexterity score increases by 1, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Age
Lepidons mature at the age of 15 and can live on average up to anywhere between 65 to 90 years, though it is not terribly uncommon for some to reach a little over 100 years.
Alignment
Lepidons are honest folk, making them lean more towards lawful alignments.
Size
Lepidons generally range between 5 to 7 feet tall, and often have slender builds. They often weigh between 90 and 120 pounds. Your size is Medium.
Darkvision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Sunlight Sensitivity
You have disadvantage on attack rolls and on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight when you, the target of your attack, or whatever you are trying to perceive is in direct sunlight.
Lepidon Culture Training
You have proficiency with rapiers, longswords, and one artisan’s tools of your choice.
Antennae
Your antennae grant you insight into the locations of nearby creatures, even if you aren’t looking at them. You gain blindsight out to 10 feet. Within that range, you can effectively see anything that isn’t behind total cover, even if you’re blinded or in darkness. Moreover, you can see an invisible creature within that range, unless the creature successfully hides from you.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write, Common and Undercommon.
Subrace
There are four main subraces of Lepidons: Swiftwing, Duskwing, Firewing, and Brokenwing. Choose one of these subraces.
Brokenwing
Lepidons who have survived extreme circumstances that left them flightless, which they've learned to live and thrive without.
Ability Score Improvement
Your Strength score increases by 1.
Extra Proficiency
You have proficiency in the Intimidation or Persuasion skill.
Battle Worn
You lose your flying speed, but your walking speed increases by 5 feet.
Duskwing
Lepidons with dark wings that naturally give them an advantage in the dark against opposition.
Ability Score Improvement
Your Intelligence score increases by 1.
Extra Proficiency
You have proficiency in the Stealth or Insight skill.
Dark Cloak
You have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks while in dim light or darkness.
Firewing
Lepidons with bioluminescent limb(s) with a natural resistance to heat.
Ability Score Improvement
Your Charisma score increases by 1.
Extra Proficiency
You have proficiency in the Persuasion or Performance skill.
Heat Body
You have resistance to fire damage. As an action, you can illuminate your body to shed bright light in a 10-foot radius, and dim light for an additional 10 feet. This light lasts 1 hour or until you dismiss it as a bonus action.
Swiftwing
Lepidons with trained wings built for speed and agility.
Ability Score Improvement
Your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Extra Proficiency
You have proficiency in the Perception or Acrobatics skill.
Expert Flyers
Your flying speed increases to 40 feet.
