Homebrew Bakeneko Yokai Species Details

Cats of particularly high spiritual energy will often become yokai, beginning to walk upon their hind legs or transforming into a humanoid form. Their age, intelligence and power can be seen within their tails; which grow longer as they grow in strength. Particularly powerful bakeneko may actually become Nekomata, two tailed cats; known for a particular malevolence. Though it is suspested that they are only known as malevolent because the good nekomata are too strong to be witnessed, blending seemingly into human society while causing no real disturbances.

Luck, both good and bad, are a plaything to Bakeneko. The bad luck they may bring are seen as curses, especially by those who view yokai as evil attribute it to any Bakeneko. The good luck they bring is attributed to "Maneki Neko", bringing fortune to those blessed by them

Yokai Transformation.

You may shift between a cat, humanoid and more fully human form as an action. You retain any abilities, except for those below which you cannot utilise in the fully human guise.

Feline Agility.

Your reflexes and agility allow you to move with a burst of speed. When you move on your turn in combat, you can double your speed until the end of the turn. Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you move 0 feet on one of your turns.

Tail Flame.

You may ignite flammable objects utilising your tail as a source of flame.

You have proficiency in the Deception and Stealth skills.
