Homebrew Witchling Species Details

Lost to these lands -

   Witchlings are a race not of the prime material world. They may look similar to the elves or gnomes of this world but they are vastly different. Originally from an island within the astral plane their people are more in touch with the abberations and stars. Constantly curious of this land, they will stop at nothing to learn of it more in depth. Customs and traditions of the new found home tend to be ignored as they simply don't have the time apart from to understand the basics.

Age-

   Witchlings age around the same as humans for the first 25 years, at which point similar to elves the aging process slows dramatically. They  reach maturity at roughly the age of 19 then can live until the ripe age of 500 some rare cases of good health have reached 600. 

The Dying Breed- 

   Witchlings are cursed in the way of genetics. Only passing on their traits to the female offspring. This meaning that there are no male.Witchlings must find a life partner outside the community they know. Unfortunately, this has resulted in fewer and fewer each generation. Witchlings have due to this fact, become incredibly charismatic in resent years.

Intellectual Prowess-

    Astral knowledge past on throughout the generations of Witchlings has resulted in the race inherently  adapting quicker over time. they are well versed in the arcane from birth, resulting in a fast and accurate ability to read, write, and speak many dead languages. 

 

Witchling Traits

Your witchling character has a variety of natural abilities, the result of thousands of years of passed on knowledge and traditions.

Ability Score Increase

Your Charisma score increases by 2, as well as either a boost to intelligence or wisdom by 1.

Age

they age similar to humans until 25 and then form there follow elves. Maturing by 19 and aging until between 500 and 600.

Alignment

Witchlings love freedom, variety, and self-expression, so they lean strongly toward the gentler aspects of chaos. They value and protect others’ freedom as well as their own, and they are more often good than not. Though, some may fall prey to their darker ancestry.

Size

Witchlings range from under 4 to roughly 5 and a half feet tall and have slender builds. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision

Accustomed to the astral sea, your eyes have called darkness home for longer than you have called the material plane such. As such, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Astral Awareness

You have proficiency in the Perception skill.

Bending the Weave

Your ability to tap into the weave has given you foresight against Wisdom based magic.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write abyssal, deepspeech, and common. Though lost on many ears.. Witchlings learned the importance of catching those whom spoke these tongues
