For the duration, you know if there is an aberration, celestial, elemental, fey, fiend, or undead within 30 feet of you, as well as where the creature is located. Similarly, you know if there is a place or object within 30 feet of you that has been magically consecrated or desecrated.
The spell can penetrate most barriers, but it is blocked by 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood or dirt.

Is there a way for wizards to get this spell? I want to play a Diviner wizard who's a phsycic and I'm going the half-elf mark of detection variant to get some extra divination spells I still want this spell for some decent practical applications like detecting that a Fiend is near, but I don't know how to get it as a wizard.
Perfect example of a spell that doesn't do what it's name implies.

Typically "within 30 feet of you" refers to radius.
If there are three creatures in a room - one undead, one fey, one human - what could be told with that spell? That there is at least one type of creature mentioned in the spell among those three, or would it show exactly which one is which creature?
It doesn't specify "centered on caster" in any way, so it's a 30 ft sphere where YOU, the caster, are stood at one end of the sphere. Functionally, this means anything that is UP TO 30 ft far from you.
