An immobile, invisible, cube-shaped prison composed of magical force springs into existence around an area you choose within range. The prison can be a cage or a solid box, as you choose.
A prison in the shape of a cage can be up to 20 feet on a side and is made from 1/2-inch diameter bars spaced 1/2 inch apart.
A prison in the shape of a box can be up to 10 feet on a side, creating a solid barrier that prevents any matter from passing through it and blocking any spells cast into or out from the area.
When you cast the spell, any creature that is completely inside the cage's area is trapped. Creatures only partially within the area, or those too large to fit inside the area, are pushed away from the center of the area until they are completely outside the area.
A creature inside the cage can't leave it by nonmagical means. If the creature tries to use teleportation or interplanar travel to leave the cage, it must first make a Charisma saving throw. On a success, the creature can use that magic to exit the cage. On a failure, the creature can't exit the cage and wastes the use of the spell or effect. The cage also extends into the Ethereal Plane, blocking ethereal travel.
This spell can't be dispelled by dispel magic.

Better than wish change my mind.
Doesnt say the cage cant be rolled or pushed...or picked up. Trap a dragon? Laugh at it as it winds up and charges one of the walls and knocks the cage over, or worst, small enough dragon can just start flying with the cage on its back. Congratz, you are now pinned under force bars, 1/2 inch away from the mouth of a slobbering dragon thats licking at you through the bars. Spell doesnt sound so powerful, now, does it? Oh and yes, this works, as a dragon can do this with a normal cage. The spell only makes a cage or a box that happens to be made of Force...which has no weight., not a steel bunker thats anchored / cemented to the ground. Spells only do what they say they do, nothing more, nothing less.
I think the word you may be overlooking is "immobile"
its a 7th level spell that extends into the ethereal realm. auto work? no way
I feel like it should get 3/4 cover if it''s in the cage.
I mean, any shape shifter can get out of here via Wild shape or Polymorph. For no concentration it's pretty good but has massive flaws for a level 7 spell
Not using dispel magic on it is so dumb, make it make sense
Picture this Barbarian holds actions. Wizard i cast Force cage around the BBEG. The Barbarian rushes in. Just you and me buddy
"... creating a solid barrier that prevents any matter from passing through it and blocking any spells cast into or out from the area." Couldn't you not attack them though this?
