CON Save

Poison
You extend your hand toward a creature you can see within range and project a puff of noxious gas from your palm. The creature must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 1d12 poison damage.
This spell's damage increases by 1d12 when you reach 5th level (2d12), 11th level (3d12), and 17th level (4d12).
Oh wait that’s basic rules nvm
Goes well with War Mage Feat at least.
Wait so does this continue to do damage each round until they make a saving throw?
no
since it's a gas could i condense it into a liquid and bottle it? i wouldnt see why i cant im just turning a gas into liquid via pressure or temperature change.
Nope. Think of it like this. The gas is magical, summoned from nothingness, and as soon as the damage is done, the gas vanishes in the same way it appeared. Sure you could try to aim it into a bottle and cool it fast enough to liquify it, but within seconds you'll just have an empty bottle anyway, as the magic dissipates.
What is the con save?
Your Spell Save DC: 8 + Your Spellcasting Ability Modifier + Your Proficiency Bonus
So for a level 1 Wizard with 16 (+3 modifier) Intelligence it would be 8 + 3 + 2 (your proficiency bonus at 1st level).
Not a first choice of a conbat cantrip. Sure, the damage die is nice and big, but the range is uncomfortably short for a wizard or sorcerer, and a lot of things have immunity or resistance to poison. Not too bad for a druid, perhaps, who may be tank-y enough to stand near the front line. Anyone have any builds for which this would be a really good choice?
I wish this would create a lingering cloud of minor damage. That would be so cool.
When the creature fails to save, does the damage include the Poisoned Condition plus the 1d12 poison damage?
No, this spell does not apply the poisoned condition. If it did, it would say that in the description.
I like this spell very much
Yes
