You now have to be able to see a creature falling in order to trigger the reaction to cast this spell. Technically you can still target falling creatures you can't see but you don't get the reaction unless you see a creature fall or are falling yourself.
So in the specific situation where you hear a creature fall within 60 feet but do not see them fall, even if they tell you "Help! I'm falling!" you cannot cast the spell. Weird situational wrinkle.
