Your eyes become inky pools of black flames and lock onto the eyes of a sighted creature that you can see within range, you then utter a single word, "Repent." Images of every evil deed committed by that creature pass through its mind in a soul shattering progression of images. Sightless creatures, constructs, and creatures with an Intelligence score of 6 or lower are immune to this effect. Targets with an Intelligence score of 7 or higher must make a Wisdom saving throw.
A Good aligned creature has advantage on their saving throw and on a successful save takes no damage from this spell, and on a failed save takes half damage from this spell and is frightened of the caster for 1 round.
A non-good, non-evil creature suffers half damage from this spell and is frightened of the caster for 1 round on a successful save, and on a failed save suffers full damage and is frightened of the caster for d6 rounds, the target can make a Wisdom saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
An Evil aligned creature has disadvantage on their saving throw and on a successful save suffers full damage from this spell and is frightened of the caster for d6 rounds, and on a failed save suffers double damage from this spell and is frightened of the caster for 1 minute. The target can make a Wisdom saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Base damage from this spell is 2d6 Psychic damage, the damage caused by this spell can not reduce the target's hit points below 1. If the target looses more than half its total hit points from a single casting of this spell it is incapacitated for 1 round.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 1st.

Wish this is a real spell!
there is a double-space btw
I like the idea, but I think if I ever use it I will nerf it a little. That is not a problem though seeing as most homebrew spells have to be tailored at least slightly.
All in all this is a great spell idea. I love the thought of alignment affecting the outcome.
Thanks. I modeled it after Ghost Rider’s penance stare. I wrote it for a very specific campaign about a year ago, if I were writing it for a normal campaign I would have probably made it 1d4 damage/spell level.
Wow. Unlike your other spells (no offence intended) this seems not at all generic. Great flavour and stuff.
Thanks!
No offense taken. Many users prefer my more mundane spells, but always liked this one too.
When I first saw this, I was like, Oh hey, that reminds me of Ghost Rider's penance stare!
Thanks! That means I did it right. Lol
Same here :)
