Choosing a creature that you can see within range, you coalesce the air around them into ice, to freeze your target in place, or at least slow them down.
The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 6d4 cold damage and be restrained for the duration. When cast at 6th level or higher, the target is also stunned for the duration. On a successful saving throw, the target only takes half the damage rolled and has its movement speed halved until the end of its next turn. At the end of each of its turns, the target can retry the Constitution saving throw. On a success, the spell ends on the target.

Targets that are soaking wet from water,  halfway or completely submerged in water, or made of water have disadvantage on saving throws against this spell.
Targets that take fire damage from a spell or otherwise magical fire effect (such as an attack from a fire elemental or magic weapon that deals fire damage, but not a torch or tinderbox) that are under the effect of the spell immediately have this spell end on them. Any damage from lava also immediately end the spells effect on them.
Finally, if a target is currently on fire, be it magical or nonmagical, this spells "douses" those flames, and end their effect.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 2d4 for each slot level above 3rd. When cast a 6th level or higher, the target is also stunned for the duration.
