Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Silver Petal display incredible skill with thrown weapons, using them to both attack and defend. They learn to strike further and harder with their weapons, deflect enemy projectiles with their own, and imbue weapons with Ki to manipulate them from afar.
Silver Petal Technique
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd Level, you gain mastery over thrown weapons. Whenever you make a ranged attack with a thrown weapon that has the light or finesse property you gain several benefits.
- You may draw thrown weapons as a free action.
- The range of your thrown weapons increases by 10/20.
- You add your proficiency bonus to damage done with thrown weapons.
Silver Blossom Blooms
At 6th level you become deadlier with your thrown weapons. Your thrown weapons count as magical for purposes of overcoming resistances. You may throw one as a bonus action using the rules for an offhand attack even if the other weapon you are wielding is not light provided the weapon lacks the heavy or two handed properties.
Additionally when you use your action to make a thrown weapon attack you can expend Ki to perform a series of attacks instead, you may spend a number of Ki points up to your dexterity modifier and make additional thrown weapon attack for each Ki spent. Each attack must target a different creature. On hit you may roll your martial arts die and add it to your damage.
Silver Wind Guards
Beginning at 11th level you can expend your reaction at the end of your turn to enter a defensive stance. Until the start of your next turn you use your own thrown weapons to defend yourself and allies from ranged attacks. When you do so, the damage they take from the attack is reduced by 1d10 + your Dexterity modifier + your monk level and subtract the damage. The target of the attack must be within 30ft of you.
Gleaming Hummingbird Dances
At 17th level you gain masterful control of your weapons. You may spend your action to touch a number of thrown weapons equal to your wisdom modifier, expending two ki for each weapon. The weapons levitate within your space. If you are targeted by an attack you may use your reaction to gain a +1 to AC per weapon in your space against that attack. As an action you may move these weapons up to 60ft and make a single attack with each, they ignore cover but you must be able to see your target. If they end their turn in the same space as a creature you may choose to use your reaction when it is targeted by an attack to grant it the AC bonus. You may also use your reaction to take attacks of opportunity with these weapons as if you were in their space. This effect ends after 1 minute or if you fall unconscious.
You may use this ability once per short or long rest.
