Cleric
Base Class: Cleric

Aspects of Retribution are gifted magical abilities by the Lightbringer Ivara, goddess of justice and light. These powers allow them to bring order and truth to the moral plane, immolating all that would obstruct their goals. Aspects function in a similar way to a Cleric, channelling power from the Lightbringer. Due to the destructive nature of elemental fire, Aspects are usually natives to the Fire Plane or are in some way protected from the purifying flames they utilise. Aspects tend to be single minded in the pursuit of their goals, and care little for convention or law. They may choose to abide by laws etc. if it suits their purposes, but consider themselves outside of such constraints.

Divine Retribution

When you choose this domain at 1st level, you gain the ability to cast the Divine Incineration spell.

Fires of Retribution

At 1st level, you gain resistance to all sources of non-magical fire damage. Additionally after being reduced to 0 hitpoints, an Aspect of Retribution channels their internal magic and transforms into Aspect form.

This immediately grants you 3 temporary hitpoints, decreasing by 1 at the end of your turn until it reaches 0, and caps any instance of damage taken to only 2 hitpoints. In this form, you do not take death saving throws and also cannot gain hitpoints from healing magic, however you can be stabilised. Aspect form also grants bonus effects to each of your class features that are only usable in this moment of enhanced magical ability.

Channel Divinity: Scorching Dawn

Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to invoke divine justice upon your foes, removing their resistances.

As a bonus action, you channel your divine magic to reduce the resistance rating of the next creature affected by your Divine Incineration by one rank. Additionally, if the creature is already vulnerable to fire damage, they are now deemed 'defenceless' against it, and take 4x damage. (Immune > Resistant > Neutral > Vulnerable > Defenceless)

When in Aspect Form, Scorching Dawn also grants 1 additional hitpoint immediately upon being used.

Protector from Above

Starting at 6th level, you gain access to the Divine Ally reaction. Once every short rest, when being hit by an attack originating from an enemy you can see, you can make a DC13 Strength saving throw in order to halve the incoming damage. On a failed save, you take full damage. Gain an additional charge at 12th level.

When in Aspect Form, your Divine Ally now fully nullifies all incoming damage from one attack.

Retribution

Staring at 8th level, you gain access to the Avenging Flame reaction. Upon seeing an ally fall in combat, you can use this reaction to radiate a pulse of purifying flames from their body - dealing damage equal to 60% what they received (rounded up) to all enemies in a 5ft radius. This reaction initially has three charges, with one charge resetting each dawn.

In Aspect Form, Avenging Flame is instead upgraded to Purifying Flame, gaining an additional temporary charge and allowing you to transfer one of your own hitpoints to your fallen ally - instantly stabilising them and bringing them back into the fight.

Ascension

Starting at 17th level, your pure magical power has reached the point where you are no longer limited by the concept of mortality. You have ascended, and can now enable your Aspect Form at will, however damage from enemies is no longer capped at just 2 hitpoints per attack. Additionally, you no longer lose one hitpoint per round, and can now choose which version of each of your class features you would like to use.
