Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

Acolyte Masters are those who wish to gain the powers of the wild, but do not believe in the simple life of a druid, they find ways to achieve this power by forming bonds; not with the gods, but with the demons. Patrons willing to give rangers supernatural powers that only creatures and monsters control; but in return, demand for the souls of their kills, innocent or guilty, it doesn't matter. Killing is an inevitable part of anyone’s life anyway, so why not take the deal, and have a little fun doing it.

Pets from the other side

When making a pact with your Patron, you are given demons that take the form of existing creatures, with some twisted appearance of course. They are loyal to you to the very end, always by your side, deep inside you. Do not mistake them as just some familiar given to you, they are more than that, they worship you like a god, they are followers of your own beliefs. That is why they are not called your familiars, but acolytes instead.

At 1st level, you are given your Acolyte Companions, but will stay inside your body until you prove your worth as Alpha.

Acolyte Companions:

  • Conquest Spectator (Sheet)
    • Taking the form of a small Beholder, being as big as an adult human head, it has four eyes on the side, and one big eye along with 2 smaller eyes in the middle. It is all about logic and tactics and is able to let you see things that normal eyes wouldn’t be able to see.
  • Vain Aranea (Sheet):
    • A demonic spider that is the size of an average dog and has webs that is strong enough to keep things in place. You'll be able to use the webs to wrap people up or to stitch up any wounds if done correctly.
  • Glutton Anguis (Sheet):
    • An aquatic snake demon that can stretch its body a far distance and has an appetite that can’t be matched. It is mostly used to reach and grapple things from a distance. When the time is needed, if you lose an arm or leg, it can control the severd limb and roam around freely.
  • Sorrow Clara (Sheet)
    • A phantom bat that has wings imitating the mist and fog. It grants the user the ability to glide a certain distance with ease, and can also be your eyes in the sky, locating objects of interest.
  • War Canis (Sheet)
    •  A monstrous devil dog that has a very thick hide, strong enough to compare it to a rhinoceros. Mostly used as a hunting hound to take down targets fast. But when combined with a host, it can give the owner an extra thick layer of skin to protect from deadly attacks.

Worth of Summon

At 3rd level, you have proven your worth as Alpha and are now able to summon one of your Acolytes to do your bidding, and at later levels, summon more of your Acolytes by your side. There are no saving throws needed to summon, nor a time limit for how long your Acolytes can stay out, but when they die or are defeated, they will automatically be brought back inside you and cannot be summoned back out until one full long rest.

One with your Servants

At 3rd level, you gain the ability to merge with one of your Acolyte companions and gain the actions and abilities of that Acolyte; in order to do so, you must roll an Animal Handling saving throw that is equal or higher to Acolyte’s AC. Keep in mind that each one of your Acolytes have their own side effect when merging with them. This will last for 2 hours or until deactivated by the user and can’t be used again until Short Rest. You will not be able to merge with them if they are killed or defeated.

Side Effects:

  • Glutton Anguis: You gain slimy, snake-like, features and the need to eat everything that lives. When it’s your turn, roll a Wisdom save, and if failure, for a bonus action go after the first creature you see and use Bite attack. You also have a swim speed of 20 ft.

  • Vain Aranea: No alteration to appearance when merged. You gain a climb speed of 35 feet, but lose 5 AC when in this form. You also gain 2 points in Medicine and Sleight of Hand saves.
  • Conquest Spectator: Your head takes the form of a beholder, leaving you to become more paranoid of everything around you. You gain true sight and increase Wisdom saves by 4, but you become more vulnerable to intimidation actions.
  • Sorrow Clara: You sprout wings that you glade, and gain a mist that flows around you. Increases Stealth saves by 4, but you become blind and gain 60 ft in Blindsight.
