Base Class: Monk
The Way of the Blade Dance is an order of monks who tend to wield much larger bladed weapons then typical monks, they do this through the use of the Blade Dance Technique. This technique teaches monks to stay in constant motion, flowing across a battlefield with grace and precision. Their weapon acts as an extension of their body, twirling around them until they build up enough momentum strike at their enemies. A Blade Dancer monk can mask their true abilities behind a performance, but be warned, a master Blade Dancer can unleash a dance of destruction unto their enemies, laying waste to everyone within reach.
Dance Partner
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain access to the tools of your trade. As a Blade Dancer you gain proficiency in performance and one Martial weapon of your choice. Traditionally this weapon is bladed but you may choose any martial weapon. Finally, this weapon counts as a monk weapon, regardless of its properties and you may use dexterity instead of strength for attack and damage rolls made with this weapon, as you artfully weave between your foes while twirling the weapon around your body.
Blade Dance Technique
Additionally, at 3rd level you are able to move with an unparalleled speed and grace as your weapon twirls and rolls across your body allowing for fluid strikes. During your turn if you have moved 20 feet or more your next attack gains advantage, you can gain advantage in this way a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all spent uses of this feature after taking a long rest.
Graceful maneuvering
At 6th level, you have a spring in your step and can move like no other, when calculating the distance you can jump use your Dexterity instead of Strength. Additionally, when you expend a Ki point on your step of the wind feature you can make a melee attack with your monk weapon as part of the same bonus action and you gain advantage on all acrobatics checks made until the start of your next turn.
Whirling Defense
At 11th level, when you are the target of a melee attack, but before you know if the attack hits, you may expend one use of this feature to roll a martial arts die and add the number rolled to your AC. If the attack misses, you may move 15 feet without provoking opportunity attacks as part of the same reaction as you deflect the blow and roll out of the way. You may use this reaction a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, which resets after a long rest.
Dance of Destruction
At 17th level, you have honed your technique to an unparalleled level and can now preform a dance of destruction, twirling your blade in every direction, attacking all foes within reach. You must spend 3 Ki points to initiate a dance of destruction, which lasts until the end of your turn. This allows you to attack every foe within your reach, with every attack made wielding a monk weapon. Make one attack roll for each attack as you normally would, but apply the roll to each creature of your choice within the weapons reach. Additional Ki points may be spent to apply stunning strike, but an additional Ki point must be spent per target hit. Finally, when rolling damage make a single damage roll applying the weapons damage and any additional effects to each creature that is hit.
