Base Class: Monk
Monks who follow the Way of the Star Breaker understand better than anyone the fundamental forces that hold all of existence together. Star breakers teach that enlightenment lies within the stars and spend entire nights in meditation underneath the night sky, deeply contemplating the mechanisms by which the lights of heaven are birthed and destroyed. They view their time on the ground as little more than training for their day of ascent and by channeling their Ki into powerful, methodical waves they are able to bend gravity and magnetism to their will, honing their skills in hopes that one day they may meet the heavens and return to dust to join the stars in their blinding dance of attraction.
Pull
At 3rd level, When you choose this tradition, you begin to understand what holds all of creation together and bend it to your will. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 Ki point to move a target creature that you can see within 20 feet. Upon doing so the target creature must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be moved toward you 10 feet. This does not affect creatures that are more than one size class larger than you.
This feature can be used on airborne creatures. When used in this way, the target creature must succeed on a +2 Dexterity saving throw or be immediately grounded, knocked prone, and take Force damage equal to one roll of your martial dice. Additionally, affected creatures will take falling damage if applicable.
You may spend additional Ki points to affect +1 creatures per Ki point spent.
Repulsion Wave
At 6th level, you harness a deeper understanding of the fundamental forces. As a bonus action you may spend 2 Ki points to accomplish one of two things;
- You may reverse the gravity in an area in front of you, forcing each non-allied creature in a 20-foot cone to succeed on a Constitution saving throw or be sent 10 feet into the air (or as high as a ceiling will allow) and suspended there until the beginning of your next turn. After which the effect will end and the affected creatures will be subject to falling damage if applicable. This does not affect creatures that are more than one size class larger than you.
- You may magnetically charge yourself, granting yourself the effects of the Spider Climb spell for up to 1 hour.
Your class feature Pull will not cost Ki points when used on creatures affected by Repulsion wave or when you yourself are affected by it.
Boson Spin
Beginning at 11th level, You learn to manipulate projectiles as though they were shooting stars. Your Deflect missiles class feature will now allow you to intercept projectiles that require a spell attack roll.
Additionally, when making use of your Deflect Missiles class feature to make a ranged weapon attack you may spend a Ki point to suffuse the projectile with gravitational energy improving its impact and accuracy, giving it +2 to hit as well as giving it Bonus force damage equal to three rolls of your martial dice.
The Great Attractor
At 17th level, your meticulous mastery of gravity allows you to manipulate individual pockets of spacetime. As a standard action, you may spend 3 Ki points to disrupt the gravitational waves of a target creature that you can see within 40 feet. They must succeed on a +2 Constitution saving throw or have their Armor Class reduced by 2 and movement speed reduced by 10 feet until the end of your next turn.
Additionally, should this be used on an airborne creature; they will immediately be violently pulled to the ground, being Knocked prone and subject to Force damage equal to three rolls of your martial dice + your Wisdom modifier as well as triple falling damage if applicable.
You may spend additional Ki points to extend the effect by +1 round per Ki point spent.
