Base Class: Fighter
This fighter has acquired a cursed shield. The shield allows you to become the ultimate protector of your team but limits damage output. You can no longer use weapons, but you are able to lunge forward with excessive force protecting yourself while smashing into your enemies.

The Shield
Starting when you choose this martial archetype you gain access to The Shield which grants you a +3 to AC (increasing to +4 at 7th, +5 at 10th, and +6 at 15th levels), that you can never lose or be disarmed of. You receive a +2 to CON not to exceed 20.You may now attack with The Shield using a Shield Bash. You also gain access to two Shield Skills which can be used once per turn.
You may spend one hour to have The Shield absorb any magical properties of another shield. The other shield will be destroyed and can not be saved in any way. The shield can only absorb properties of one magical shield at a time which can be exchanged.
The Shield is also cursed which can not be removed in any way. Attempting to wield a simple or martial weapon results in the player taking psychic damage equal to fighter level and you are disarmed of the weapon. If a damaging spell is cast while wielding the shield, the spell receives a -3 to attack and damage rolls.
Shield Attacks
When you choose this martial archetype, you learn two unique shield skills: Shield Charge and Shield Toss. These skills can be used once per turn.
Shield Charge: As an action you must move a minimum of 10ft. in a straight line and smash into one target. On hit the target takes damage and must make a DC(10+STR+Prof) STR or DEX save or be knocked prone.
Shield Toss As an action you can throw the shield at one target within range (30/60). Hit or miss The Shield magically returns to your hands.
Lead the Charge
Starting at 7th level, The Shield urges you to lead the charge. As a result you can add your STR modifier to initiative rolls and walking speed is increased by 10ft.
Stay With Me
Starting at 7th level, once per turn you can use your bonus action to use the help action or attempt to grapple the target of your shield attacks. If the target is prone they are instead restrained.
Additionally your shield attacks and skills now count as magical for bypassing resistances.
Hold the Line
Starting at 10th level, The Shield now wills you to protect others. All allies within 5ft. of you automatically receive a +1 to AC as long as you can see them.
Additionally, you have mastered using your shield to protect yourself and avoid damage. While wielding the shield you are resistant to slashing, bludgeoning, and piercing damage from non-magical weapons.
Save Me
Starting at 15th level you and The Shield's bond is so strong that it steadies your mind and body. You now have advantage on all saving throws.
The Shield Wall
Starting at 18th level when you can see an ally targeted by an attack, you may use your reaction to move half your speed without provoking opportunity attacks and impose disadvantage on the attack. If the attack still hits you take half of the damage. This ability can only be used 2 times per long rest.
Additionally, your movement speed is increased by 10 ft.
