The assassin is a terrifying killer who knows how to instill fear in their victims, but more importantly, knows how to use their victims' fear against them.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with the disguise kit and the poisoner’s kit.

Assassinate

Starting at 3rd level, you are at your deadliest when you get the drop on your enemies. You have advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn’t taken a turn in the combat yet. In addition, any hit you score against a creature that is surprised is a critical hit.

Terrifying predator

At 9th level, when you kill a target using your sneak attack, any creature within 60ft of the target that sees the target die, must make a wisdom saving throw (DC 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus) or become frightened of you for 1 minute. They can repeat the save at the end of their turn.

You also have advantage on any attack roll against a target that is frightened of you.

Sense of doom

At 13th level, you can frighten creatures that would normally be immune to the frightened condition, they do however have advantage on the save.

Creatures that are frightened of you have disadvantage on ability checks and attack rolls even if you aren't in their field of view.

Death Strike

Starting at 17th level, you become a master of instant death. When you attack and hit a creature that is surprised, it must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, double the damage of your attack against the creature.
